Today’s guests are Brian and Katy Fries from the Auburn Arts Commission. As you drive or walk around town and see mosaics, painted utility boxes, and many other cool artsy things….there’s a good chance that the Arts Commission and this dynamic duo were somehow involved.
The Auburn City Council established the Auburn Arts Commission on May 22, 1995 with the goal to foster and promote the visual and performing arts in Auburn while serving in an advisory capacity to the City Council in such matters. Our discussion today focuses on some of the Arts Commission’s main events and projects:
Music Around Town – Every Friday & Saturday during May – August from 6 – 9 p.m. Click HERE for the complete summer music schedule.
Auburn Art Walk – Second Thursday of each month from May through September, with a new twist this year of rotating locations. Click HERE for more details.
Summer Concert Series – Four Sunday evenings during June and July at the Auburn Library Garden Amphitheater, presented by the Auburn Arts Commission and the Auburn AAUW (American Association of University Women). Click HERE for the listing of performers and dates.
